This project centers on redesigning the website for the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh with a user-focused approach, guided by Information Architecture principles. The goal is to enhance the museum’s online presence by catering to the five identified key user archetypes: the planning parent, the engaged educator, the curious kid, the supporting member, and the new-in-town parent. Each archetype was carefully considered to ensure the website meets their distinct needs, providing a more intuitive and engaging user experience.
The redesign process involved reorganizing content and visual elements based on user goals, ensuring that information is easy to find and interact with based on information architecture principles. The iterative prototyping process focused on refining the homepage to prioritize key actions for core user groups, improving readability and accessibility. The result is a user-friendly interface that helps visitors quickly navigate wanted information.
